WASSCE FOR PRIVATE CANDIDATES (GCE)
APPLICATION FOR REGISTRATION
Intending candidates for the November/December 2011 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for Private Candidates are to purchase scratch cards from any of the approved outlets as all registration will be online.
MODE OF PAYMENT
Candidates are expected to pay by cash a registration fee of five thousand, six hundred and fifty naira (N5,650.00) made up of examination fee, administrative charges, e-learning fee and information VCD fee in any of the approved banks nearest to them ot to accredited selling agents and collect two different scratch cards for the examination. One scratch card is for online registration and the other for the checking of the result. Scratch cards will be available for sale by bank draft in all the WAEC offices. Late registration will attract the payment of ten thousand naira (N10,000.00) as penalty fee. Candidates should note that banks and other selling agents are allowed to charge two hundred and fifty naira (N250.00) as commission.

REGISTRATION
Candidates must conclude registration within two weeks of first access to the website within the registration period. They are also to print the admission notice/photocard as evidence of successful registration. This will serve as photocard during the examination.
BLIND CANDIDATES
Blind Candidates will also register online like sighted candidates but must clearly state their disability.
GENERAL INFORMATION
(1) Candidates should note that the examination fees are not refundable.
(2) Entries must be submitted with good quality black and white photographs, not “wait and get” or colorued photographs. The background of such photographs MUST NOT BE BLUE OR RED. The size should be 275 by 314 pixels.
(3) Candidates should study carefully, the information on the scratch cards before registration.
(4) Candidates should study the Regulations and Syllabuses as well as the Timetable for the examination which they can download using their registration scratch cards.
(5) Candidates who lose their scratch cards will purchase another card.
(6) All candidates must go to their examination halls in mufti without arms. No professional uniform of any kind will be allowed in the examination halls.
(7) The entire results of candidates who make more than one entry will be cancelled.
(8) Smoking is not allowed in the examination halls.
(9) Candidates are strictly not allowed to bring mobile Phones into examination halls.
(10)                    All candidates must ensure that their entries are correctly uploaded, as the Council will not be held responsible for errors in candidates’ particulars. No request for correction will be entertained on any information, which a candidate voluntarily gives at the point of registration after the conduct of the examination.
(11)                     Candidates who engage in examination malpractice will not only have their results cancelled but may be prosecuted.
(12)                     Candidates must come into the examination halls with their original photocard.
